		<description>This is a great list of resources, and especially topical as I am planning a trip to Japan at the moment. 

I totally agree with the idea of looking beyond the guidebook to get a better idea about the culture you are visiting. It&#039;s so easy to forget about it until the last minute, and then just dive into your guidebook on the plane. But you&#039;re right that you can get much more out of the trip with some background.</description>
